    Dr. Cooley graduated from the  University of Michigan School of Dentistry  . He is a member of the  American Dental Association  , the  Michigan Dental Association  , and the  Kalamazoo Valley District Dental Society.  He is past president of the Kalamazoo Valley District Dental Society, the Michigan Dental Association, the Vedder Society of Crown and Bridge, and past chairman of the State of Michigan’s Board of Dentistry. Besides, Dr. Cooley has fellowships in the Academy of General Dentistry, the American College of Dentistry, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and the International College of Dentistry.

    Dr. Cooley has been recognized by his Kalamazoo peers for outstanding service to society and the dental profession with the “Edgar A. Honey Award” and the “Meritorious Award” for contributions to the practice of dentistry and instilling high professional and educational values in others.

    In addition to his Kalamazoo dental practice, Dr. Cooley is a dental examiner for the Northeast Regional Board of Dentistry. In this capacity, Dr. Cooley, as a member of an examination team, certifies senior dental students for state licensure in over 30 states.

    Nikole, Office Manager

    Nikole comes to our office with almost 30 years of dental experience, both chairside and front desk. She graduated from Grand Rapids Educational Center - Dental Assisting program in 1994 and later continued on with a general accounting education at Kalamazoo Valley Community College. She started out as our scheduling coordinator in our office, transitioning over to our office manager. Her versatility to be at the front desk or chairside assist proves to be vital within our office. When she is not in the office, she is usually spending time with her daughter, sewing, taking a cruise, or snowmobiling.

    Debra Vorick, RDH, BS - RETIRED

    Debra has an Associate of Applied Science degree in Dental hygiene from Kalamazoo Valley Community College. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of Michigan in 2006 with study emphasis and research in oral cancer and medically compromised patients. Debra is past president of the Periodontal Study Club for Dental Hygienists, a member of the Bunting Periodontal Society, the only dental hygienist to be inducted into the Vedder Society of Crown and Bridge, and a member of the National Dental Hygiene Honor Society, Sigma Phi Alpha. She has over 38 years of clinical dental hygiene experience in private practice and has worked as a Visiting Nurse and Hospice volunteer. Debra’s favorite aspect of dentistry has been the wonderful friendships she has developed with her patients. She is the spouse of Dr. Cooley

    Rochelle, RDH

    Rochelle graduated from Kellogg Community College with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Dental Hygiene. While practicing dental hygiene on the West Coast, Rochelle gained plenty of hands-on experience in the field of preventive oral care. Upon returning to Michigan, Rochelle practiced in the Battle Creek community, before bringing her nine years of experience to Dr. Cooley's practice. She is a member of the Bunting Periodontal Society and has been a great resource of education and hands-on knowledge to the practice for over 20 years.

    Nancy, Sterilization

    Nancy has been an instrumental part of Dr. Cooley’s practice for over 12 years working in the sterilization area. Before joining the practice team, Nancy had been a patient of Dr. Cooley for over 20 years.  Having come from an industrial background, Nancy was able to bring the hands-on approach necessary for the detailed process of sterilization and product ordering. She is responsible for maintaining the high quality of sterilization Dr. Cooley demands. All of us here at the practice count on her abilities.

    Lyia, Dental Assistant

    Lyia 'pronounced Lay-a ' joined our office this spring of 2022. You can tell by her smile that she is a warm and caring health care professional. Beyond that she is very organized and highly skilled, a perfect combination for a great dental assistant! Lyia graduated 6 years ago from Ross Medical here in Portage, Michigan. Outside of dentistry she loves being with friends and being a mother to her 9 old daughter.

    Kristin joined our office February 2023. She graduated from KVCC with honors, and has 7 years of experience as a Dental Hygienist. Kristin is not only passionate about her job, but she values the relationships she develops with her patients. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her 2 sons, Maddox and Phoenix. She also loves to travel, hike, and overall enjoy the outdoors!
